They are not "real" cable, because here we use pneumatic tubes: long lengths of thin pneumatic tubes that are mechanically unprotected are a problem in the process control industry, refineries or process plants. We solved this by numbering the individual tubes first, in order then to be stranded and surrounded by a common protective jacket. By doing this we reduce installation costs and the printed numbers provide a 100% connection security. And if you want splice a piece to the middle: there are numbers there too!
